Psychotherapy
Individual Therapy
Aliza’s treatment approach is rooted in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy principles that explore the connection between one’s early experiences and their present symptoms, behaviors, and relationships. By paying attention to the inner workings of the mind and discussing the interplay between the past and present, patients are able to identify root causes of life-long patterns, make more conscious decisions, gain deeper insight, and develop the compassion for oneself and others that is needed to heal. This process helps patients develop greater capacity for self-regulation and creates lasting harmony and change.
Aliza finds that an integrative approach works best and will incorporate other therapeutic modalities, such and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), based on the individual needs of each patient. Aliza also offers play therapy for children and adolescents.
Aliza is a Child, Adolescent, and Parent Psychotherapy Training Program candidate at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (WCSPP).
Family Therapy
Every member of the family has a desire to feel seen and understood. Aliza offers family sessions to facilitate communication between parents and children as they navigate difficult developmental transitions and emotional challenges. Sessions will aim to create mutual empathic understanding and offer ways to sustain connection in the face of conflict.
